Fundamentals Of Environmentally Friendly Clothing

By Minnie Whitley

The types of clothes we wear not only reveal much about our character but also have to do with our comfort. No matter the fashion line that one might opt to take, it is quite crucial to consider environmentally friendly clothing. You do not just put on a cloth because it fits into your body. Also, it is unwise to be so crazy about color that whenever you see a blue dress or a brown trouser you are tempted to try it out.

Weather is also an issue that needs looking at. The weather conditions of your location determine how you ought to adorn yourself. Heavy outfits like coats are not meant to be worn all the time like some people do. Even if you are going to the office on a hot day, it is better to just put on a shirt to avoid the excessive heat produced by a coat. Your comfort should come first before appearance.

Another category comprises of people who are always dressed in light materials. For most ladies, attires that reveal some parts of the body are taken to be trendy. It is thus not a surprise to find a woman in a mini skirt and a sleeveless blouse on an ice cold day. These kinds of sacrifices are not worth making as people need to value the need to stay healthy by choosing to dress in a way that diseases that are caused by bad weather can be kept at bay.

The weather conditions aside, clothes are also considered to be environmentally friendly if they are made of the right materials. This is an era where technology is really advancing. People therefore have the free will of choosing from a variety of materials. Still, there is need to choose materials that are recyclable and safely disposable.

Cotton is arguably the best for all ranges of cloth making. Sometimes it is mixed with other additives to make it more durable or attractive. This notwithstanding, the environmental aspects need not to be compromised. When they get old, dumping them will be easier if they were made of substances that can rot so as not to leave a large unmanageable heap.

Stock your wardrobe according to the urgency of usage. Avoid keeping so many things that are not needed. Instead of having excess clothes, it is better to get only the ones you need to avoid pollution. This way, you will help in reducing the amount of clothes that need to be disposed leading to a more organized and useful wardrobe.

When we talk of the environment, this includes the people that we interact with on daily basis. Some people get offended when they see person dressed in a certain way. Contrastingly, most people are of the view that they can put on anything they want, since it is free. Church wear for instance needs to be decent as opposed to the outfit you go the garden in.

As a consequence, your appearance in public will determine their verdict about your character, attitude and behavior. One should thus take grooming seriously the way a scientist makes keen observations. When people are well groomed, they add to the aesthetic value of the environment. This is essential as our surrounding is the source of health and diseases in equal measure depending on how we manage it.
