Decorating Using A Metal Wall Sculpture

By Elaine Guthrie

There are always numerous challenges present when decorating a home or corporate environment. In the corporate world, one has to think differently because it has to appeal to so many people. Beyond that, they have to think of elements that will provide interest to the space aside the normal pieces usually found in an office. Below, see the reasons to decorate using a metal wall sculpture to help make a statement.

In the corporate setting, it is an ideal choice because it's quite durable. It's made from various types of metals, which could be aluminum, steel, or wrought iron, for example. Therefore, if it happens to be dropped or bumped into with hard objects, it will maintain its appearance, so it could also be the perfect addition in any home, where there are pets for young children.

It's also flexible artwork that works with different styles of interior design schemes. Whether an office or home is decorated with an Asian flair, or more traditional or modern, it will work. Furthermore, even if wood tones are changed, or other materials like melamine or glass are brought in, they will all blend in well together. In other words, nothing will clash.

What's more is that this is a timeless piece that will not show its age. Other forms of artwork need to be updated because of the way styles change. Beyond that, it's sophisticated and tasteful, so we can look fresh and modern even 10 years from now. Another interesting part about it is that while it draws attention, it doesn't make too much of a personal statement which is important in a workplace.

Sometimes, the fact that it doesn't make such an important personal statement is also beneficial to bringing it into a home. Just because those who reside in the home are a family does not mean that they have the same taste. So, it becomes a feature that's striking enough to create interest, and possibly bring forth a subtle message, but one that's entirely up to the individual.

This medium, which is very durable and quite malleable helps to be very expressive so we can easily shape a home or workplace. Oil paintings can be beautiful, as can other forms of decorative art, but these are a wonderful alternative to the norm. It's rare, for example, to find a piece of art in the form of 3-D, but this is very possible when using metal.

Other reasons that it becomes so attractive is the fact that they can be abstract pieces, manipulated in certain fashions as seen fit by the artist, and appreciated by the onlooker. Themed pieces are also very popular to complete a certain look, as in a study, where one would possibly choose a sailboat. One of the most interesting types are those where numerous pieces are involved which spread across the entire wall.

By the same token, such sculptures are not only reserved to interiors. In fact, there are many that could be hung on exterior walls. This is very important considering how many have embraced their outdoor spaces, and have made them extensions of their actual homes. This way, they can decorate their outdoor space so that it looks like a real attractive room.
