How To Create Narrative Drawings Perfectly

By Ida Dorsey

Drawing can be very difficult, especially if you are not that accustomed to it. However, just like any other skills, if you practice, you will eventually learn it. Most of the time, it can be frustrating, especially if the result is not what you expect it to be.

Drawings has been around for centuries already. Our ancestors used different tools to achieve it. Some of them even use bizarre equipments just to share their ideas to everyone. If you want to know how to create narrative drawings, then that is fine, because we will guide you through on how to do it. If there are some steps that you find difficult, just practice it and you will learn.

Primarily, you need to start with a concept, which is what mostly drawing starts. Imagine anything that you can imagine and illustrate that, if you can. By doing that, you will have a clear idea in mind on what you should create. This is difficult in some ways, but if you just open up your mind to some other possibilities, that should be okay.

Once you finish creating your concept, you can then proceed to the second stage which is the narration part. This is where the main story comes into play. You have to create a story in every shape that you make through the drawing process. For instance, if it is a line, you can narrate it as a road that most people cross or something like that.

In drawing, you have to be familiar first with the fundamental shapes. You have to practice your curves, your lines and some other shapes that you find important on what you want to achieve. You can even start it with a sketch. If you are unfamiliar on what a sketch is, it is basically a simple structure that will serve as the skeleton of your overall illustration.

The material to be used can be anything. It can be a colored pencil, a charcoal, marker or whatever things that you think you need. In choosing an equipment, be sure to select those high quality ones, because most of the time, if you go for those cheaper versions, the output is not that good, which can ruin everything.

If you cannot think of any ideas, then searching the web is the way to go. There are ideas that you can browse online that will help you create your own. Keep in mind that art should be unique, so create something that is unique in some ways basing on the ideas you can find in the internet.

Last step but not the least, is the presentation. This is where you finish everything up and ready to show it to your audience. If you are proud of you work and you are okay to show it to the world, then share to some social networking sites out there.

This might not be a skill that can be learned overnight, but if you are willing to do whatever it takes to perfect it, then for sure, you can do it. Always learn from your wrong doings and try to correct that every day.
