Looking for a new sort of drinking game? Possibly one with a royal twist? The Kings cup drinking game may be just what you're looking for if the goal is fun and inebriation. The basic set of rules, though varying from place to place, are simple and require few tools: a deck of cards spread in a circle, a cup placed in the center of the card circle (the King's cup), and each member's beverage of choice along with enough cups for each player.
The Ace Known as waterfall, the player that drew the card must begin drinking. Everyone follows suit, but a person cannot stop until the person next to them has stopped. This continues on until the last player can stop drinking. For this card, the goal is drinking a little too much to force the next person to keep going.
Two "Two Means You" The player that draws the card chooses another player. A chosen player then takes a drink. However, numerous variations on this particular card exist.
Three "Three Means Me" If a player pulls this card, then they must drink the equivalent of three drinks.
Five: The men go bottoms up with their beers.
Four: Four drinks are to be consumed, two by the drawing player and two to be given out.
Five: All the men must drink since "five means guys."
Seven "Point to Heaven" A drawing player throws their hands into the sky, and the last player to follow along takes a drink.
Eight "Eight Means Date" The drawing player chooses a partner to take a drink with them every time the situation comes up.
Nine "Nine Means Rhyme" On their turn, a player draws this card and chooses a word. The player to their left needs to pick a word that rhymes with that one. Everyone continues this pattern until a player can't think of anything. At that point, they're forced to drink.
Jack: Play a game of "Never Have I Ever" with three or five fingers. At some point, a person is going to run out of fingers, and they'll have to take a drink.
Ten: The "New Rule" card. The drawing player quickly thinks of a new rule for the game, such as, "if someone says 'drunk', they have to drink." Some Kings rules drinking games stack these new rules on top of each other whiles others say the old rules cancel out when a new rule is put into play.
Jack: A game inside a game! Players will play "Never Have I Ever", holding up three or five fingers. The drawing player states something they haven't done and any player who has done it must put down a finger. The game continues to the left after each round and the person who puts all their fingers down first must take a drink.
King The first three players to pull a king add their drink to the King's Cup. For better or worse, the fourth player to pull a king winds up chugging the entire King's cup.
Kings rules drinking games are often quite varied among groups. Therefore, Kings drinking game rules are often modified from their original state. Players negotiate the rules before the game starts, which makes Kings drinking game quite unique. Perhaps the only thing that remains the same is that every card pulled leads to someone getting a little more inebriated.
